The Royal BVI Yacht Club was established in 1973, the product of sailing enthusiasts who wanted a place where sailors could meet, swap stories, enjoy themselves and most importantly sail.

We are delighted to enjoy reciprocal relationships with numerous yacht clubs around the world. Our members enjoy access to these clubs and we similarly welcome members from them when they visit the BVI.

We are also recognized by World Sailing (the world governing body for the sport) as the National Authority for sailing in the BVI. This means we oversee the development of sailing in the islands and sailing activities in general.
As the National Authority we also issue sail numbers for boats and yachts registered in the BVI.
